Our management provides a safe work environment requiring that its personnel, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers plan and design safe operations. Management and employees must be aware of and comply with all relevant Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S), Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) and Workers Compensation Board (WCB) regulations, using established worksite rules and procedures that demonstrate concern for workers. All employees are responsible and accountable for the company’s overall safety initiatives, following all procedures, working safely, and providing information to improve safety measures. Active participation by everyone, every day, in every job is necessary to achieve the safety excellence that Ashburn Drilling expects. An injury and incident free workplace is our goal; through continuous safety and loss control efforts, we can accomplish this together.
Ashburn Drilling is committed to putting in proper measures to safeguard the environment. Our goal is to do our job well without risking harm to the environment. While doing our work, we will consider the protection of humans, animals, plant life, air, water, and soil. We expect all employees and partners to do their best to prevent harm to the environment. We will use, store, and dispose of products with appropriate protection to the environment. Management will develop and enforce good environmental standards in accordance with relevant legislation. Workers will be kept informed on how to do their jobs in a manner that will cause minimum environmental harm and waste of materials. Where possible, we will recycle and encourage the use of recycled products.
Ashburn Drilling complies with the “Certificate of Recognition” (COR) program for the Alberta construction industry through the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) and Alberta Human Resources and Employment, Workplace Health and Safety. The goal of this program is to provide employers and workers with the tools and knowledge to reduce losses caused by workplace injuries. It demonstrates that Ashburn has developed and implemented a safety management system that is evaluated on an annual basis through comprehensive internal and external audits. COR is often also used as a pre qualification requirement standard for safety programming for companies and contractors who supply construction services. Ashburn is committed to maintaining our COR and using our safety management program to continually strive to increase safety awareness and accountability within our organization.
